This movie is unique for many reasons. It's one of the shortest movies you'll ever see (75 minutes?), the entire movie is shot all from the same first-person camcorder perspective, and it's one of the coolest movie theater experiences you'll ever have! While it doesn't have the most thought-provoking story or complex script, it rumbles your seat and uses the full movie screen to pull you into the action. After it ends, you'll feel like you were on a roller coaster. The story is a bit secret so let me just say that if you're looking for a thrilling, fun, and memorable theater experience, see this movie while it's still in theaters. |

This movie honestly feels more like a movie ride at an amusement park than a "film." Cloverfield is best described as Godzilla told from the Blair Witch viewpoint. The entire film is documented from a handi-cam, which can be distracting at times. However, this may have been one of the best theatre experiences of my life. The film lacks a beginning and barely has an ending but the middle is tons of fun. If you want to see this at all, SEE IT IN THEATRES. Its far from a great movie but its one hell of a ride. |

This is exactly what I go to the movies for. Isaac pretty much laid out the premise, although I will say that the use of the camcorder is pretty original and I can't say I've seen a story told like that in a movie before. The plot was pretty basic, but in my opinion that wasn't a shortcoming because it wasn't really about the sci-fi elements. The end wasn't very climactic but it was fitting, and really didn't disappoint me any. Anyway, you need to go see this in theatres. I'm going to at least one more time. |
