Leatherheads

YEAR: 2008 RATED: PG-13
Using an apparent 1920's feel to the film, this fast talking half-comedy scores only an average number of points. The main players are George Clooney, a pro-footbal veteran in a dying sport, Renee Zellweger, a sassy news reporter, and John Krasinski, a war hero and college football star. Their banter back and forth is quick, but the story surrounding it all is pretty dry. It felt as if they were squeezing a dry sponge in trying to get a story out of a pretty boring premise. It has its moments and that's why this doesn't go into the "D" range, but certainly not a movie worth seeing in the theater.
