Munich

Spielberg once again does a marvelous job, creating a movie based on true events. The film not only shows what happened during the infamous 1972 Munich Olympic hostage/murder situation, but focuses even more on the events that followed afterwards, as Israeli men are hired to kill the Palestinian terrorists that were involved. Eric Bana leads a strong cast, with very realistic non-stop action, and a candid portrayal of Europe in the 1970's. The movie drags on a little too long for comfort, but the end product is still high-quality.

Steven Spielberg again makes a film about a difficult subject as he did with Amistad and Schindler's List. This time he covers the Munich terrorist attack at the Olympic games in 1976. He brings us a very thought provoking film that not only shows the viewer the aftermath of the incident but also questions whether vengeance is the best response to acts of terrorism. Spielberg hints at the answer, but he ultimately leaves the answer up to the viewer. And although the film is a tad long, the terrific acting from Eric Bana and great directing make it quite entertaining.
