YEAR: 2008 RATED: PG-13

While very tense at parts, and a solid production scale (such as the Nazi-Germany cars and planes), ultimately it felt like this movie was a bit scattered and tried to fit in too much story and too many characters into the film. It might be worth a rental, especially if you are curious about one of the attempts to assassinate Hitler, but personally I don't see myself watching this again, whether on DVD or even if it comes on any of those movie channels.

Tom Cruise stars in this well-crafted thriller about a real-life plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler by a group of German soldiers and military leaders. Director Bryan Singer does a terrific job of creating suspense, especially because the viewers know (or should know) how the story ends in advance. The strong performances and great visuals make this a theater worthy film that may not be memorable but is definitely entertaining.
